After extensive research, study and tests, the Bureau of Indian Standards has recommended roof pitch 18.3 degrees as best suited and optimal for all Indian conditions. NEW SCOPE ROOFING subscribes to his standardization process. However, designers are free to choose slope of their choice keeping factors like heat dissipation, operational requirements, energy conservation and environmental factors in mind. Profile is suitable for adaptation to slope as designed. |

| Normally during rains there is a tendency for water to rise between the overlap of the sheet due to capillary mechanism, and water crosses the crust of the sheet and enters the shed. Anti capillary groove resists the capillary mechanism of water and hence provides a complete leak proof solution to the shed. |

| On lower pitch roofing, the process of crank ridges eliminates the need for ridge capping. Full length sheeting can be laid from eave to eave and crank ridges can be laid between the ridge purlins. This process eliminates the possibility of leakage caused by a break in the sheeting at the ridge, reduces the costs involved with using a ridge cap and provides a neater alternative. |

Pitch of Roof |

| The pitch of roof shall. Wherever possible, be preferably between 15º -18º, as recommended in I.S. should it however be inevitable to adopt roots with lower pitch end laps shall be increased suitably . |

The purlin spacing will generally be restricted to 1400mm c/c to 1500mmc/c of the purlins, but it may be extended to 1600mm c/c for high tensile steel sheets.
For side cladding the maximum recommended purlin spacing is 1600mm to 1700mm ridge purlins will be fixed at a distance in between 150mm to 200mm from the apex of the roof. Also at eaves the free over hang that measure as the length of sheet from its lower edge to the center of bolt nobles, shall not exceed 150mm to 200mm. |
